The newest addition to a growing network of public speaking clubs was launched on 5th December when Salisbury Speakers held their first ever meeting. Some 16 speakers of all levels of accomplishment gathered at St George’s Hall in the first step to becoming a fully fledged member of the Toastmasters International group of clubs.

Local founder members were joined by participants from fellow clubs as far away as Dorchester, Basingstoke, Fareham and Southampton with speech topics which ranged from the a strongly expressed allegation that Santa Claus is a dangerous fraudster, to an exploration of the chilled out world of mindfulness.
